Launched in November 2013, the Xbox One was Microsoft’s ambitious bid to own the center of your living room. The Power of "Durango"

Codenamed Durango during its development, the Xbox One featured a massive shift in architecture, moving to an 8-core x86-64 AMD "Jaguar" processor.

• Multitasking Master: With 8GB of RAM and a unique "three-OS" system architecture, the Xbox One allowed you to "Snap" apps to the side of your screen. You could play Forza while watching a live football game or chatting on Skype simultaneously.

• HDMI Pass-Through: A standout feature for the Chasms.com community was the HDMI-In port. You could plug your cable or satellite box directly into the Xbox, allowing the console to act as your TV's interface with the "OneGuide" interactive program listing.

Kinect 2.0: "Xbox, On"

At launch, every Xbox One was bundled with the redesigned Kinect 2.0. This 1080p camera was far more than a motion controller:

• Biometric Sign-In: The console could recognize your face the moment you walked into the room, automatically logging you into your personalized home screen and pins.

While the original "VCR" design was large and required an external power brick, the Xbox One family evolved significantly:

• Xbox One S (2016): A sleek, "Robot White" revision that was 40% smaller, moved the power supply inside, and added support for 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray and HDR video.

• Xbox One X (2017): Codenamed "Scorpio," this was the "world's most powerful console" at the time, featuring 6 Teraflops of graphical power to deliver true native 4K gaming for the most dedicated enthusiasts.
