Make Alias
To make an alias (shortcut) for an application,

Highlight the file (see top screenshot),

Go to the File menu bar and click Make Alias.
An alias will be put directly under the file you chose to make an alias of (see bottom screenshot). You can then (for example) drag it to the desktop for later use. Always refer to the screenshot for further instruction.
