The following five points will get you started. |

Choose what you want to scan. You have three different areas to choose from - hard disks, removable media (floppies, CD's etc.) or user-defined folders. More information |

Select how to scan, and run the scan Choose the scan mode (quick, normal or thorough) and whether you want to scan the contents of packed files (such as zipped files). Then execute the test by pressing the "Play" button. More information |

Accept the results of the scan After the test finishes, you will be presented with some statistics of the test and shown the test report. If any virus is found, you have the possibility to choose the desired action. More information |

Just as in real life, the best protection against viruses is prevention. Protect yourself now! The resident protection can be controlled by pressing the icon with the avast! symbol. More information |

5. |
Customize the program to your needs! By using the context menu, you can customize the program. The latest version of avast! proves that using an antivirus program can even be fun! More information |
