WIN3.X Tips And Other Things
The following computers havecommunication applications that will interfere with the "Shiva Dialer". (thanks billwhit@gte.net)
1. Compaq__Operator
2. Packard Bell__PB Navigator
3. Acer__Acer Explorer (loaded fron win.ini)
4. AST__Desktop (shell=desktop.exe.) uses communications port
Remove these devices and then use the "Personal Edition Navigator".
Syntax error detected in script, line #0.
This will probably mean that the "Automatically log in with a script" is checked. You get to that by going to "Dialer", "Properties", "General" and then uncheck it....Thanks to Robert for informing me of this.
Please, do not change Virtual Memory to Permanent in Win 3.x if
customer has a compressed drive, this will cause him a lot of problems .
Solution for this issue is to do a clean boot and start from DOS by typing win/s , this will take him to windows in standard mode( like safe
mode in win95) and you can put the old settings back.---Rizwan Haroon.
